Hey Guys, Stop Rigging And Manipulating The Top 100 Military Websites Poll...!!! This Is Unfair To Other Nominated Parties, Where The Hell Are Your Sense Of Democracy...!!! Even Though Each Person Is Given The Privilege Of Voting Every One Hour, That Does Not Mean You Must Abuse The System... Lets Give Other Websites A Chance.
I Had Already Suggested To The Patriot Files Administrators For The Poll To Be Conducted Every Once A Week With The Polling Enabled For 24 Hours To Prevent Abuse. Please Don't Take This Post As An Opportunity To Flame Me, I'm Just Stating Mine POV. Any Flaming Posts Towards Me Were Not Be Responded To...!!!

flipzi - November 24, 2005 03:07 AM (GMT)
The idea is this. You may notice it yet but the poll organizers failed to put in place the needed safety measures to prevent such abuse.
Just asking. How are you sure that others arent doing the same thing?
See?
The best thing the poll organizes must do is that they should only take one vote per every user account.
Wushu - November 24, 2005 03:27 AM (GMT)
they did not post any rule that prohibits multiple voting, neh?
have you ever thought that they are measuring viewing hits, not actual people......
and why are the first letters of every word in your post in caps?
hey, were just as bored as you are :drunk:

Mine point here is about the principles of democracy, it really does not matter if the poll is based on viewing hits or on actual individual votes.
As a forum it's easier for the people to be rallied together for a cause (As You Can See In This Thread). This is not the case for the other websites which only provide military information, most of the votes they get is not repeated as many times as those of a forum, do you consider this just and fair...??? From the statistics of the PatriotFiles military top 35 poll, you can clearly see that out of the only 5 websites that had risen in position, two of them are purely forum website (PDFF And WAFF).
Whatsmore i really don't see how you guys can be so "over the moon" just because the PDFF is in the top 10 position through vote-rigging and manipulation of the voting system commited by the members of this forum. Its basically saying... "Hey Guys We Managed To Buy Ourselve Into The Top-10 Position... WooHoo..."
And Please Don't Take This Post As An Opportunity To Flame Me, I'm Just Stating Mine POV. Any Flaming Posts Towards Me Were Not Be Responded To...!!!

of course it matters..... your arguments are based on the definition of the ranking....
if the website is a one vote per person affair, then you have a case..... but its not, so your argument is baseless.....
its not about "democracy" or "web sites vs forums".... its all about web hits, plain and simple......
we are not breaking any rule, so what's the gripe? why is it immoral or unfair?
heck, if the same link was posted in opus forum, i'd vote there as well..... and i think no one here (except you probably) would think more of it.....
you know what? why don't you just post here the appropriate rule here where we have gone wrong.... i for one will gladly oblige and stop voting.....

so why are you so "over the moon" over this?
your reading too much into this man..... relax..... spend a little time over at no man's land and maybe you'll get a few more laughs....

flipzi - November 24, 2005 05:07 AM (GMT)
I get your point.
But still, we are just doing what we can do out of our enthusiasm to try this one.
Who cares if we get the top spot anyway?
George Bush? The world community? Nobody cares anyway!
Just us, the same people who casted those votes.
Everyone knows that the poll aint credible anyway since the way it does the poll is not protected.
We are just doin this for fun actually.
The best thing to do here is to tell the poll organizers to..
| QUOTE |
| only take one vote per every user account. |
And dont worry. We wont throw flaming words at you because you are more valuable than this faulty poll itself.
Cheer up!
The poll itself just showed us how strong the PDFF members' teamwork is. :thumb:

Somebody is making an issue out of nothing. There was no specific rules on how to vote and it's a common sense that if there was any rule something would pop-up when you hit the enter to vote if you have visited it before and have already voted.
If you have a sense of enthusiasm for honesty just leave it to yourself and do whatever you think is appropriate rather than searching for any rules that is nowhere or non-existent.

:agree: TOPP
No Rules given, just vote.
Wardog - November 25, 2005 12:38 PM (GMT)
Now I really vote every hour on the hour for two reasons:
1. To help raise PDFF's ranking
2. To spite Temasek
nyahahahaha :demon:

hey mutt, whois rigging and manipulating the votes, we just vote and its not our fault that those patriot people allowed an hourly vote
and whats the big deal btw? its just a silly ranking, we all know that there are a quite a lot of topnotch military websites that didnt participate in that ranking
we vote for fun and we here are smart enough not to take the rankings very seriously, only idiots will...capisce?
possible - November 27, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
:dunno: I don't know what the fuss is all about. Military Top 100 tracks both first-time (Unique Hits In, Unique Pageviews) and repeat clicks on the icon (Total Pageviews, Total Hits In, etc.) and allows users to change the pageview so they can see listed sites ranked according to each value. thus if anybody's worried that Total Pageviews might not be an objective criterion, go see Unique Pageviews to eliminate repeat voters. remembering individual PCs is the best "safety feature" allowed for casual polls like these, unless somebody here prefers handing his credit card or bank account number over to every Top 100 poll that comes along.
