May be silly... but he's got a good point about the gov. supporting labor export of the people, particularly the prostitution trade with Korea. Then again, it's up to the people to change their attitudes and do something about their country and not wait for the government.

I'm curious why'd you think Pol Sci majors cannot be commissioned as officers.

FAELDON WEBSITE DRAWS 1 MILLION VISITORS

MANILA, January 26, 2006 (MALAYA) MORE than a month after its launching, the website of escaped Oakwood mutiny leader Capt. Nicanor Faeldon has been viewed over a million times as of yesterday.

The website (http://www.pilipino.org.ph), which Faeldon launched days after escaping from military custody last Dec. 14, recorded 1,000,005 hits at 10:15 a.m., and rose to 1,041,560 at 5:30 p.m, the site’s counter showed.

"We congratulate the web-masters for that, for using Faeldon," said Lt. Cdr. Earl Evan Pabalan, deputy chief of the AFP public information office.

The AFP has said the website is not being run by Faeldon himself.

"Granting the Filipinos’ penchant for searching the web and Filipino’s concern for curiosity, we expect those numbers. It’s an indication of mere curiosity," he added.

A technical expert who requested not to be identified said the website is being run from No. 13 Pines st., near 14th avenue in Caloocan City. It was not clear if the military community is aware of this.

The expert also told reporters that based on the website registry, the webpage of Faeldon is hosted by "NS9.Nokiahost.com" and "NS10.Nokiahost.com."

Army chief Lt. Gen. Hermogenes Esperon earlier said he would work to dismantle Faeldon’s website at the price of violating civil liberties.

That the site is still on the web indicates the host server is foreign based and, thus, beyond the reach of Esperon, experts said.

Through the website, Faeldon has been calling on the public to take part in a civil disobedience campaign to overthrow the Arroyo administration.

He has said Arroyo was "corrupt and ruthless and will do anything to remain in power."

Taunting authorities, including the AFP and PNP which have launched a "nationwide" manhunt for him, Faeldon also posted videos clips and photographs of his visits to the headquarters of the Western Command in Puerto Princesa City, Southern Command in Zamboanga City, and PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Faeldon has said he could not be stopped from entering these camps unless corrupt generals themselves manned the gates. He also said military officers and men have committed themselves to take part in the civil disobedience campaign.

Authorities have been saying the photos and videos could have been computer-manipulated.

Pabalan dismissed the possibility of Faeldon visiting Camp Aguinaldo. Text messages said Faeldon was sighted at the AFP headquarters.

"As regard the alleged sightings of Capt. Faeldon inside Camp Aguinaldo, those are baseless; those are untrue. That is bereft of details…that is plain and simple disinformation," Pabalan said.

Pabalan said Army Brig. Gen. Jovenal Narcise, commander of the Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group, has given the assurance there is no way Faeldon could enter Camp Aguinaldo undetected.

Other reports said Faeldon was sighted inside Camp Karingal, home of the Quezon City Police District.

The PNP said it was checking the report.

"We will evaluate information and depend on information. The ground commander will make the judgment call. The units in a particular area can deal with reports of the sightings," said Chief Supt. Leopoldo Bataoil, PNP spokesman. – Victor Reyes and Raymond Africa

His website did'nt violate any law at all. It is an individual presentation of one's opinion that is in harmony with the freedom of expression although it has'nt fall to the category of a well cultivated ideology, it still serve as an eye-opener for anybody to take a second look of what the present regime looks like.

We cannot put blasphemy onto his name and person because everybody has the inherent right to his own opinion without necessarily being mugged with malicious and frivolous criticisms.

website counters are html tools that can be easily manipulated by its author, or in the case of a hosted site, by its administrator.... he/she can set its default starting point at 0, 100, 10,050, 1,000,000, even 99,999,999...... and he/she can do this at any time and as often as possible......

also, the web robots of search engines like google also produce hits......

this is common knowledge in the online industry...... the malaya reporter and even the deputy chief of the afp public information office should have been advised on this.....

Fugitive mutineer Faeldon arrested

FUGITIVE Marine Captain Nicanor Faeldon, one of the ringleaders of the so-called Oakwood mutiny of July 2003, was recaptured in Metro Manila on Friday night, a month after he escaped from military detention, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff General Generoso Senga said.

Faeldon was caught while driving a red Toyota sedan along McArthur Highway in the village of Tugatog in Malabon town at around 8:30 p.m., with his girlfriend, identified only as Captain Rivas, an intelligence report said.

Its easy to rant against government. Its even easier to support a sitting administration. What is difficult is to actually do something about your beliefs. Unlike so many others who style themselves as rebels -- or for that matter, many others who support the status quo -- here is one man who now has managed to use legitimate means to achieve revolutionary ideals, without compromising on his original stance against a usurper. At the very least, he deserves our respect. If not outright gratitude.

What else can one presume in and how else can you interpret his website but read it as incitement. He was implicated in Oakwood. I would consider good faith if he renounced Oakwood mutiny, lend support to the incumbent government and write as much nationalistic, patriotic sentiments as he likes in his website. Or refuse to support the government of Arroyo hut renounce Oakwood. Although the public cannot articulate their views due to lack of knowledge in English, he cannot fool the public. Fool me once, fool me twice...... (paano ba yon?)

renounce oakwood + lend support to incumbent government = epigone would consider as good faith

OR

renounce oakwood + refusal to support incumbent government = epigone would consider as good faith

all you're saying is RENOUNCE OAKWOOD...it will NOT MATTER whether capt faeldon lends or refuses to support incumbent government...maybe you should be saying that to the 54 men who -- for reasons of their own -- have pleaded to violation of the Articles of War 97 (conduct prejudicial to good order and military discipline) in exchange for the dropping of four more serious offenses against them, namely, AW 67 (mutiny), AW 96 (conduct unbecoming), AW 63 (disrespect to the President, Vice President and Defense Secretary) and AW 64 (disrespect towards superior officers).

DISHONORABLE DISCHARGE po ang 54 na mga opisyal na ito sa Hukbong Sandatahan ng Republika ng Pilipinas.

"Guilty beyond reasonable doubt" ang 54 according to the military tribunal and with the guilty verdict comes an imposition for each of the 54 a prison term of seven years and six months...THAT'S THEIR PUNISHMENT FOR GOING TO OAKWOOD...BUT...Since they have been detained since July 28, 2003, the 54 would "just have to serve" AN ADDITIONAL THREE YEARS AND EIGHT MONTHS...THAT'S THEIR PUNISHMENT FOR GOING TO OAKWOOD...BUT...the defense request to reduce the sentence by another three years was granted, or by one year for every mitigating circumstance: the surrender of the accused, the change in their plea to guilty and their long years in detention...oakwood was A PROTEST AGAINST CORRUPTION IN GOVERNMENT...capt faeldon went to oakwood to protest against corruption in government, not because he wants to run for political office, not because he wants to star in his own fans' club, and certainly not to fool the public...

one does not need to be articulate in the king's language to be fooled...you're an example of that inarticulation...as to FOOLING you, sir, capt faeldon's CHARACTER does not subscribe to that category...fooling YOU, epigone, is like having an all-expenses paid prefrontal lobotomy. :lollol:

What is it about the website that you interpret as incitement? And incitement to what?

It is apparent Mr. Epigone that you are uncomfortable with beliefs that are contrary to your own. But Capt. Faeldon's site is no less the noise of democracy than the views you have expressed on this site.

And it is not just Capt. Faeldon's website that is impressive. It is his conduct and adherence to what is right. To date, he alone has refused to compromise his principles. Others who participated in Oakwood have either bargained with the same authority that they claimed is illegitimate, participated in a system (electoral or otherwise) that they have claimed to be corrupt or actively sought reinstatement in a military establishment that they have claimed to butcher its own soldiers.

It would be the easiest thing in the world to give up, and go with the tide. But this kind of courage is the stuff heroes are made of.

When you arouse patriotic fervour through nationalistic, patriotic sentiments, refuse to support the government and refuse to renounce your allegiance or loyalites to Magdalo or RAM-AFP and you are involved in the past with Oakwood, what else are you trying to impart but to win adherents to your cause. Hindi ako tanga. Mas lalong hindi ako bobo.

BTW, I don't give a damn about the problem of the government in Oakwood. I am threatened too by coup plotters and their relatives in the Philippines. My relatives are harrassed. I want to remain neutral so as not to cause trouble for my family clan. But what made me exert all my efforts to defend the incumbent and the past governments against these coup plotters, m'am spellspinner?

The incumbent director of PSIS has clout, influence, and power. His power and clout extend beyond national borders. The ex-ISAPF chief, Victor Corpus too has clout beyond national borders. I have so many mouths to feed. I am supporting the studies of my children. Their tuitiion fees amount to thousands of dollars. If I get fired from my job here in Birmingham, I will not only end up homeless. I am going to be dependent on enemies of the state who are all itching to get hold of my finances so that they can make a bitch of me. I do not want to remain beholden to enemies of the state. There are offers and pitches everywhere. "Unattended candles cause fires", as my ex-father in law and ex-ISAPF chief has always warned me. I'll be fired from my supervisory job here in England. And when any Filipino gets fired either in England or USA and they've fallen out of grace with the government, sigurado PSIS or ISAPF ang may kagagawan. Tarantado si R.D.!!

Some people use big words and quote authors just to show their intelligence. Some of them are wrong quotes dear. Its much better if you really read a book.

All you thinking that the AFP has hope should not hold their breath. Cause there are still people like garcia who made a quick buck and trillanes that wannabe gringo. If it's not true you are hypocrites. You don't know the immensity of corruption in the AFP or you tend to just turn your heads the other way.

And Duminus if you want to ban me its your prerogative. But you cannot shut me up for my convictions. I will speak what I wanna say cause this is not the Philippines in the PDFF. Thats why it is called a forum.
