In 1999, San Juan (Sniper) taught patrolling to advance military science students at the First Scout Rangers Regiment (FSRR) training camp in San Miguel, Bulacan. Tamayo, a computer engineering student from the University of the East in Caloocan City, was among the 17 and 180 boys who enrolled in the course.
Tamayo continued with her militray training during summer and semestral breaks. She topped the Musang challenge, a gruelling 15 day endurance test that included a 3.2 mile run daily for 15 days and swimming in full uniform, complete with combat boots and a backpack.
In 2002, Tamayo, the girl from Romblon who dreamed of joining the PMA, was named Corps Commander of the Reserved Officer's Training Course (ROTC) of all UE campuses. |

sir saver111; nene tamayo is not an ordinary girl. she's one of the extreme challenger. i think, even sniper was her idol, it doesnt mean they have common vision for our nation. nene is service oriented individual. she's now in abs-cbn. she choosed being in this career rather than showbiz. In her Maalaala mo Kaya story, there was no indication being mentioned that she's against our government system. :dunno:

Well I didn't said anything about her in that aspect. I just quoted where I got the info that she's a product of the ROTC.
And I'm just proud of it.

Just kidding. Not to that extent naman.
I admire her because we all know that many does not like the ROTC that resulted to its degradation. And for her being a female student is an optional course for their gender, opted to take it and passed with flying colors. Getting the position of Corps Commander of that big university is no joke.
I know, I am a product of the ROTC Group (3CMTG) that University once held.

She's being linked to destabilaztion plots against the administration due to her closeness with some of the Magdalo soldiers.
