Title: How about a artillery/dual-purpose AAA combo?
Description: Buy more artillery to fill in the gap

Okay, I think all of us can agree that purchasing fighters and MRFs are out of the question for now. But what about a Artillery/dual-purpose AAA combo instead? Since there are a few aircraft that can give the ground troops air-cover, why not fill in the gap by getting more artillery. From what I read and hear, artillery is by far cheaper and not as complicated as aircraft. Also getting dual-purpose AAA could be a stop-gap measure for the lack of a air-defense system. Also since they are dual-purpose, they can also be used against the insergents as direct fire support.

Are you reffering to weapons like the WW2 German 88 Flak guns?

Practical ba yan?

Our immediate enemies have no aircraft so far and potential enemies have modern aircraft that are almost invulnerable to AA guns.

what does comrade havoc is saying is that rather than purchasing sophisticated and pricey (EXPENSIVE) aircraft why not use a dual purpose weapon like arty/AA guns, can be used for ground operations (artillery) and as a AA weapon. he's not mentioning the use of arty/AA gun for aircraft only but to be used for ground support most of the time...

... but for me, i think artillery is not that good (ACURATE) lalo na sa mga junglr operation (werein too many tree covering within the area of operations).

just my comment...

I agree, but since the PAF is not going to recieve any attack aircraft anytime soon, might as well get artillery as a cheap stop-gap measure.
