This is one very effective air defense fighting vehicle...
The American Vulcan 20mm gun mounted on the M113 has dual mode, lower firing rate for ground targets and higher firing rate for air targets... M113s we have alot, gettig the air defence variant armed with 20m vulcan with a pod of stingers for added punch, would give the PA an Air Defence capability and added fire power to support ground troops..

Ang tanong nalang ay, Kung Kaya ba ng pinas bumili ng Russian hardware...Kasi palagi US hardware ang ginagamit natin eh.

GRP can! Russian arms are cheaper... Surplus T-54/55s would cost less than USD 50,000 [forgot where i read about it], other European countries could provide arms to the AFP since they have surplus hardware. Alot of these have been sold ar rock bottom price.

All Soviet weapons can do dual mode such as serve anti-personnel work. Its also important to note that Soviet weapons are also designed to defeat tanks. Requirement yun mula ng panahon ni Stalin. Problem with such would be the reliability, availability of parts and accessories, and afford ba natin ang ammo.
From what I heard we have some M113s with Vulcans pero no idea where those went or if it even truly existed. Mas maganda kung katulad ng mga modern anti-aircraft turreted versions mounted on some of our PN ships. Ganun na lang isalpak para mas simple ang maintenance at training.
