| For quite some time now, relatives and friends of Jonas Burgos have been looking for him. They asked the Army to bring him out. The Army denied that it was responsible for Jonas’ disappearance. The media took up the cudgels and pressed the Army for his whereabouts. The pressure was strong and relentless; it forced the Army chief to say that Jonas was a member of the New People’s Army (NPA). Apparently, that caused his disappearance. An Army spokesman supported his chief’s allegation against Jonas.
