Title: SOCOM as a NMF
Description: Special Forces

Guys,

Avalibale data says that:

FSRR - 4 Bn + 19 Coys roughly equivalent to 5 Bn = 9 Bn
SFR (A) - 7 Bn + xx Coys possibly can form a total of 10 Bn

*** which can comprise a total of 20 SF/SR Bn

and the LRB

Most of these units are deployed as independent or attached to OPCON units and most of time far far away from HQ.

Looking at the PMC - 11 Bn + xx Independent Coys, is utilized as NMF on a Brigade structure.

Can we not make SOCOM units like that? If we form Special Forces Groups (2 SRB + 1 SFB or 1 SRB + 2 SFB) then we can have a dedicated SFGs to cover the 7 Area Commands.

My idea on this is that rather stretching the units too thin. You can move as a potent force to complement territorial forces. That way SOCOM units operate like a PMC Brigade.

What do you think?

Kind Sir; I didn't understand your question about the SOCOM organization. Thank YOU

Special Operations Command as a NMF? Not a bad idea.

But this;

I believe that defeats the role of the special operations forces. I am not suggesting this but rather considering it for a better utilization of our resources.

First, we have to realize this;

THE STRATEGY FOR BATTLING THE NPA AND THE MORO REBELS ARE DIFFERENT.

Why? The Moro rebels, given their formidable firepower and number, will most likely confront the military head-on.

As for the NPA, it's a hit and run tactic. I suggest these;

1) For the NPA, we deploy the SOCOM forces to conduct recon and assault operations. One company strength per group only. The SOCOM relies on stealth and tactics heavily. This is why the SOCOM forces suit the task.

2) For the Moro rebels, we deploy the Marine forces. The Marine is special operations-capable anyway, so they can handle small unit surgi8cal strikes and even rescue. Their relationship with Navy SOG will also enhance their capability. Their Force Recon are deadly as well. The Marines have heavy guns and armoured units as well. They are armed, trained and organized for full scale battle.

The idea is to reasign all SOCOM forces to the other islands and just leave the case on Moro rebellion and the Abu Sayyaf to the Marine forces. The SOCOM forces are still responsible for engaging NPAs in the NorthEastern Mindanao though.

Nonetheless, i believe it will be safe to at least leave a battalion of SOCOM forces in Mindanao to conduct small-unit operations againts the NPA.

As for the rest, we send a SOCOM (Special Forces / Scout Rangers) battalion each to these provinces;

1) Negros
2) Bikol (2 battalions)
3) Quezon
4) Central Luzon
5) Mindoro
6) Masbate
7) Marinduque
8) Aurora
9) Compostela Valley
10) Agusan

Since, the Negros and the Bikol areas are notorious, we should pour in the Scout Rangers here. For the meantime, at least 2 SR Coys for Compostela and also 2 Coys for Agusan. The SRs are needed in Central Luzon and Quezon as well.

I believe we should also add another battallion for the Scout Rangers to cover the parts of Marinduque and Masbate.

The Special Forces will handle all other areas of concern.

The point is;

1) SOCOM (small unit operations) for communist threats.

2) Marines ( for the Moro concern)

Just my view though. Not even a suggestion.
