Title: PDFFers choice for President
Numbers - October 15, 2007 01:36 AM (GMT)
Who among these people will be the PDFFers choice to be next President of the Republic.
Kampilan - October 15, 2007 08:47 AM (GMT)
Ramos? Why reelect a dinosaur? :armyskeptic:
epigone - October 15, 2007 01:33 PM (GMT)
Alfredo Lim!!! A man who knows criminal law from all angles. Because if not, Sison might be acquitted only because of a major screw up committed by a would be president who has no knowledge at all of the law.
akimima - October 15, 2007 02:07 PM (GMT)
none of the above. I believe that the president must come from the younger generation of politicians somewhere in the age group between 38-45...sa madaling salita yung corrupt free or have not been exposed to dirty politics and has a heart for the people. He or she must always think of people first and me last.
seWer Rat - October 16, 2007 05:13 AM (GMT)
Chiz is young akimima, he's my choice.
Fmr TOPP Awardee 82'PNP - October 16, 2007 09:51 AM (GMT)
None of the above. If Dolphy was on the list I will go for him.
He can make the country laugh behind it's miseries.
akimima - October 16, 2007 01:51 PM (GMT)
Sewer Rat,
Sino si Chiz?
:dunno:
Spidey - October 18, 2007 12:42 AM (GMT)
Chiz is a sitting senator.
I'll go the with the sure bet - Loren Legarda.
competent and certified hottie :armywink:
flipzi - October 18, 2007 10:42 AM (GMT)
Alfredo Lim is quite okay but as it seems, he's not knowledgeable enough on economy and many other thinsg outside of his police life.
Ping Lacson is the same as Lim.
As per Legarda, i want to see a man running the top post after Cory and Gloria. Wala lang pero dapat lalake naman this time.
Chiz Escudero is too young. He maybe good in lawmaking but he needs to prove more since Sorsogon itself is not as progressive like Cebu or Davao or its neighbors like Albay and Camarines Sur.
I think Manny Villar is okay. Im still analyzing nonetheless.
Dreamrider - October 19, 2007 12:18 AM (GMT)
A stable and secure environment are required for economic growth.
Lim can always hire the best economic advisers if ever he gets to be the next president.
didu - October 20, 2007 06:40 AM (GMT)
the future belongs to the young...
chiz is the Philippine version of US sen. obama :thumb:
flipzi - October 24, 2007 12:35 PM (GMT)
My quick shallow peek on these men.
LACSON - ... an excellent Cabinet member / DILG or DND. Seem to lack knowhow on economy and the many issues outside of military life.
GRINGO - ... same sa Ping
LOREN - after two lady Prexy, i prefer the men to take charge.
NOLI - not yet ripe. Should be exposed more. A good pick still.
LIM - ... an excellent Cabinet member / DILG or DND. Seem to lack knowhow on economy and the many issues outside of military life.
CHIZ - not yet ripe. he's needed in Congress more
RAMOS - his chance is past
VILLAR is a good pick. .... but im still analyzing though
more candidates, please......
adrian_yamato - October 25, 2007 08:38 AM (GMT)
I prefered Sen Dick Gordon than all of them,...................A senator whom if theres a natural disaster, he's hands on, while our other senators can't do. He's also an top advocate of AFP Modernization.....................In short, di siya puro dada lang sa loob ng senado, he's going out when somebody needed his help,
A senator with an American name, but more Filipino at heart than those Senators na Pinoy nga, wala namang puso sa kapwa pinoy..........................
So if He's running for the highest office , I will be the first one to campain for him...
No one else :salute:
flipzi - October 25, 2007 01:15 PM (GMT)
Yes. I agree. Dick Gordon is a good pick as well.
He performed well in rebuilding Olongapo.
He understands the concerns of the military as well.
flipzi - November 5, 2007 04:18 AM (GMT)
I was told that MMDA Chair Bayani Fernando jokingly answered that he would run for the top post instead, when asked if he would run for the Senate in 2010.
Villar, Pangilinan, Roxas, Gordon, Fernando...
An interesting battle indeed.
flipzi - November 10, 2007 10:39 AM (GMT)
Why I like Manny Villar?
First, he's a success story. From a shrimp vendor in Divisoria to being the 5th wealthiest man in the country.
He has never been involved in any anomally.
Being a shrimp vendor and then a real estate developer gave him a broad perspective on livelihood and all. People need jobs! And their leader should either be an economist or someone who knows about livelihood creation ..... and perhaps on how to succeed through it, just like his own story.
As a Senate president, he has gained enough understanding on the intricacies of politics.
He has shown support for the military modernization as well.
Last but not the least, being a multi-billionaire will make us a president that is not enslaved by insatiable greed for money.
He also got his master's degree from UP.
He has what it takes to be president now.
1) He's already a multi-billlionaire
--> so why bother stealing from govt coffers and risk ruining your family's honor?
2) He's been in politics long enough.
--> he has the experience, network of supporters and all.
3) He's a businessman
--> he understands what the investors need and what the economy needs in order to grow
4) He knows the poor better than any other aspirants
--> Having been a shrimp vendor gave him the needed perspective and understanding on the life of the people below, .. the poor.
5) He's never been involved in any anomally.
6) He supports the military modernization.
--> this implies his understanding on the needs of the military.
7) He has the needed education
--> He has a master's degree and he got that from UP.
How about Manny Villar for President and Bayani Fernando for Vice President?
How Bayani Fernando transformed Marikina and Metro Manila into a disciplined and neat cluster of urban communities may help the whole nation get that needed facelift and all.
desertranger - November 11, 2007 02:41 AM (GMT)
Loren Legarda. Two lady prez so Three strikes for females and then their out. She will be the navigational light for the Philippine Poor. Additionally, Loren knows who's who. I would definitely support her and provide any assistance whatsoever.
flipzi - November 11, 2007 03:03 AM (GMT)
The Bible tells it should be the men who takes the top lead in anything.
It also feels like 2 lady prexies are now enough.
As for Loren's achievement in the Senate, ... was there any that is extraordinary?

Isn't it kinda early for this?????? You don't even know who will be the RP candidates for sure yet.
didu - November 7, 2008 06:09 AM (GMT)
c'mon santor, its a mock election so dont take it seriously - besides, i bet you all candidates will come from the abovelisted.
Tora^2 - November 7, 2008 09:25 AM (GMT)
I have to admit while it is still to early (we will only get a full suite of candidates by Early 2010), it shows who among those posturing for the Presidency will have the best chance at winning.
However, I voted a none-of-the-above because I am confident a decent and sane 3rd force bet with solid integrity would emerge by that time
mazingu - November 8, 2008 01:32 AM (GMT)
I sincerely hope sir Tora's wish will come true.
Someone not in the above list who we can truly believe in as the last best hope for our country.

TRUE! I have friends in makati and working or has business in makati and they told me its worse than malacanang! one of my friend is working in a foreign construction firm and they have a project in makati (doing only relayout of the whole 6th floor of a certain building) and the municipal/ mayor's office is asking for almost 300% kickback from their firm or their permit (building permit) will not be granted!
it sucks! Binay sucks! :headbang:
he allows his minions to be corrupt under his nose!... :headbang:

All the same! that's why the san pedro tollgate was constructed (in laguna) because of his two subdivisions near this tollgate (opposite the Alaska plant)... and take note only 1 tollgate was constructed (going south bound only, no north bound exit). you will have to go inside san pedro proper and exit to susana heights to go north bound... this tollgate only serves his 2 "high cost" subdivisions...
what a head-banger he was :headbang:
using his power to gain more wealth...

Guess who were booed at the Pacquiao-Hatton fight? 05/04/2009 | 03:34 PM Email this | Email the Editor | Print | ShareThis MANILA, Philippines - Some Filipinos booed two people while watching the big match between Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton last Sunday.
One was the British fighter; the other was Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., whose advertisements popped up during commercial breaks of the widely watched boxing match on TV.
This was according to some lawmakers, who took note that some people who watched the Pacquiao-Hatton fight Sunday appeared dismayed by Teodoro’s TV plug on disaster preparedness because it sounded more of a political ad than an infomercial.
Besides, Teodoro had already announced that he might run for president in 2010.
"Tingin ko dalawa yung casualty sa boxing kahapon: si Hatton, saka si Secretary Teodoro. Kasi doon sa pinuntahan ko talagang nagmumura yung mga tao nung lumabas yung ads e," Bayan Muna Rep. Teodoro Casiņo said in a press conference on Monday.
[I think there were two casualties in the boxing yesterday: Hatton, and Secretary Teodoro. From where I was, people were cursing when the ads popped up.]
Casiņo said some of those watching the match with him in Nueva Ecija questioned why a politician has to air his or her advertisements during the widely watched match. "The public felt insulted," he said.
Kabataan Rep. Raymond Palatino said Twitter - a social networking service that allows users to send and respond to updates on one's activities - was abuzz with comments slamming the government advertisements during the match, particularly those of the Defense chief.
Palatino said the advertisements appeared to have hurt Teodoro's chances of being favored by the Web-savvy for the 2010 elections. |
