Title: What can you do for the AFP II?/SUPPORT GROUP
BARBER 6 - November 14, 2007 07:47 AM (GMT)
The other thread was locked so I decided to open up another one since something good came out of it that will benefit the AFP. Several members already pledged suppport to Ma'am Cindy's Support Group like Sir Valiant and Sir Frenzy. Ma'am Cindy, if you could accomodate their request for instructions on how to go about it. Any more takers?

Now let's keep this new thread civil and on topic.
No more pissing contests, no more "our efforts are better than yours" BS.
cindy - November 14, 2007 12:02 PM (GMT)
thank you gentlemen for your interest in supporting our support group (pun intended) but as of the moment, our group, which is composed mostly of wives, friends, girlfriends, relatives of young officers is not yet registered and remains to be a largely informal grouping, the members of which are always on call anytime our help is needed by a distressed servicemember's family.
as such, it has been our policy not to solicit donations online and offline so as not to be misconstrued as fundraising for our own benefit or the benefit of our partners in the military. we are using our own personal resources in providing assistance to those in need particularly the widows, orphans and wounded soldiers. we also volunteer our free time in assisting NGOs and foundations who are helping the AFP beneficiaries.
but im also an active helper in the efforts of the Alay sa Kawal Foundation to uplift the condition of the common soldier, and as a registered and well-organized entity, is quite capable of prudently and transparently managing donated resources.
you can contact the foundation for the details on how to proceed with your assistance/donations through this number (02)911-6001 local 6837/6871 or email address: alaysakawalfoundation@yahoo.com
thanks and God bless all.
BARBER 6 - November 14, 2007 04:27 PM (GMT)
There you go folks...the Alay Sa Kawal Foundation Contact Numbers and eMail Address is out. Time to do your part!
To Ma'am Cindy, can Ladies (wives of our troops) and family members be a part of you Support Group and can they just PM you of the details? Thanks!

I think its now enough for the others to know the contact info of alay sa kawal foundation.
they can now share their blessings without broadcasting to the whole world what they have done .

flipzi - November 15, 2007 04:12 AM (GMT)
Cindy,
What i can give this time is anything but money.
BTW, can you tell us more about your foundation?
Tell us something like the membership and how you manage to keep it up despite the lack of direct funding from the AFP and tell us about what your office have right now and what you desire to have to improve your operations. Who knows? Someone may donate something.
Tell us something about your mission.
And last, tell us what are your planned events that you still have some problems on how to make it happen.
With this we can somehow help you conceptualize and give you inputs on how you can expand your generous service.
I know the lives of the soldiers below. I know what bothers them. It's always financial basically. With your group, we can somehow lessen that burden. Not by giving them cash as donations but in any other more efficient and lasting ways.
First, you have to tell us something so we can get into something.
By the way, it's about time you start a new thread devoted to the efforts you're doing. You can entitle it "Alay sa Kawal Foundation".
This thread is for all the suggestions on how to support the AFP. Your suggestion has been known already. It will be better if you start a thread especially devoted to your group.
I suggest you start it. It is just that it is best that you do. :thumb:
I assure you my support.

Yes Sir I agreee that they do not have to broadcast their help but this thread was created to encourage everyone and let them know that we have an easier venue in doing so...at least for those who are truly sincere in helping the AFP.

Sir Flipzi, the group that Ma'am Cindy mentioned is exclusive to some people only:
| QUOTE |
| our group, which is composed mostly of wives, friends, girlfriends, relatives of young officers |
...and there is a reason for it's exclusivity( PERSEC and/or OPSEC). These groups are common to every unit and they are indeed doing a good job with what they are doing. The majority of the members are wives (which is called the Ladies's club in some units) and they lend support (financial, moral, spiritual, etc) to other Military Personnel and Dependents, sometimes (alot of times) to civilians that are in dire need of help. They do fundraisings and solicitations to support their projects - they even shell out from their own pockets. I suggest that we just let their group be as is and respect the concept that they have right now.

The Alay sa Kawal Foundation was established sometime in 1987 by a group of professionals, I was still in grade school then. I’m not a member of its current board of trustees nor part of the paid staff, im just a volunteer worker together with my friends who pitch in everytime we’re needed. I have seen how this foundation really helps the soldier and his immediate family and I can personally guarantee that resources are really well spent and used as intended, although for the military hardware fanatic - not for the purchase of the latest weapons and shiny new tanks. :armywink:
The foundation has its offices in Camp Aguinaldo, if any one of you wishes to verify their operations; you can visit their office during business hours.
You need not even donate money, there are other things you can share but you need to contact the foundation (telephone nos. and email ad above) so they will be the ones to coordinate with you on what items or resources are really in need as of the moment so nothing is wasted.
Many of you here are information technology experts and the ASK foundation could probably need your expertise, like establishing website or database, or whatever is applicable.
As for my own personal support group, as I said, its informal and we are not soliciting financial assistance (although some of the other groups and clubs that I know do) also, we are just using our own personal time and resources. My father is very sensitive when it comes to solicitations and is constantly reminding us not even to think about it. He doesn’t want his name and his family to be linked to any fund raising activity no matter how well-intentioned. If we want to help, then the expenses associated with it come from our own pockets.
Barber is right, we are exclusive for certain security reasons, not because we want it to be.
Thank you guys and God Bless.

how very noble of mam cindy, my prayers and more power and blessings to your group.
count me in for the ASK call for help.
flipzi - November 16, 2007 03:18 AM (GMT)
Cindy,
Thanks for the info.
By the way, I suggest you start a separate thread for this so we can monitor your project and may someday do much more than talk here when the right opportunity comes.
You can also use that to post an ADVISORY so we can relay that to the others we know. Photos of your activities can be posted there as well as your other achievements (i can help you upload the files in a free website repository so we can link that in this forum for everyone to see).
By the way, i can help you build a simple site. I can create a website for you, but it's gonna be simple. No fancy grafix like the corporate ones, because they take a lot of time to construct.
One example is this
http://geocities.com/strike_musangsI can build a similar site in a month or so. NO service charge ... ahhahahahahah. But you have to pay for the weekly webhosting and domain name use amounitng to 840 or so. See actual pricing here;
http://www.intelliwebapps.com/ MAYBE THE OTHERS CAN SHOULDER THAT FOR YOU.
Diba, Sir BARBER6? .... ehem..ehem..
There are free sites but the banner ads make it look irritating and there are access rate limits. Unless, it's acceptable to you, of course.

Cindy,
Hope for the success of Kawal foundation.
I will support your group in my own little way.
I am not expert in military matters nor a soldier but I understand the situation or sentiments of our soldier because my father was and as far as I remember when he was still in active service, they are doing the same like yours.
Sila-sila mga sundalo na lang ang nagtutulungan and they do there own fund raising para kung meron nadisgrasya sa isang miyembro nila ay meron pera na gagamitin.
God Bless your Group and to Kawal foundation. Meron way to help AFP. Sama ako dyan mam.

in behalf of AsKF, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the patrons of PDFF who donated to the foundation, I was informed that a number of you just told the foundation that you learned of their efforts through PDFF and donated anonymously.
sirs and ma'ams, your contributions helped us greatly during the many outreach programs done by the foundation during the Christmas season to widows and orphans of our brave soldiers and other livelihood assistance to deserving members of the AFP.
Thanks again, happy new year (and hopefully more donations in 2008  ), God bless.

Most generous people just don't want to broadcast how generous they are.
