Hello from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, everyone!
I was just wondering if anyone here on this thread of PDFF has ever worked in joint exercises or rescue operations with the Canadian Coast Guard? There might be less of a chance for the PCG to work with the CCG than with the USCG, but I felt the question was worth asking.
I have found out they are more of a uniformed, civilian service with ship crews that are more like merchant ship crews compared to USCG cutter crews. They have a large fleet of cutters, icebreakers and other vessels as well as a large fleet of rescue aircraft and helicopters such as BO105s. I am just curious on what your general opinions are on how professional they are compared to the way you do things.
To any of you Fil-Ams who live in WA state, Alaska State, the Great Lakes region or in Maine State, you might get access to this new Canadian show called "The Guard" that shows every Tuesday night at 7 Pacific Time on the Global TV channel; it is a new series that depicts the lives of a number of fictional Canadian Coast Guard crewmen/rescue specialists. I think any Fil-Canadians who have the Globe TV channel here can also watch it. hehehe.

Hudson joining in the rescue/recovery efforts on the site of the crash of an airliner (an Air India flight, if I can recall correctly) that crashed on Canada's East Coast about a decade ago, with Canadian Navy and other vessels assisting in the SAR/recovery efforts.

Thanks in advance for any answers to my questions.
