Title: Class 78
Description: "The Next Ruling Class?"

jedi knight - June 25, 2008 04:47 AM (GMT)
Class '78, wherein PGMA is an adopted member is slowly inching their way up the AFP/PNP heirarchy. I have this feeling that once Gen. Alexander Yano retires in 2009, and if PGMA is still in power, the next CS AFP could be from class '78. Just a look some of them.

* MGen. Delfin Bangit - CG, SOLCOM - will surely get his third star as SOLCOM is a
3-star command.

* Brig. Gen. Carlos Holganza - CG, TRADOC, PA

* Brig. Gen. Romeo Prestoza - CG, ISAFP

Sayang si Gen. Danny Lim, if not for the circumstances, baka 2-star na din siya or being groomed as the next AFP CS - just my opinion though

Sana si Gen. Bangit pero malamang si Gen. Prestoza kutob ko lang

smart money's on gen. bangit.... PGMA may be a b*tch, but she sure does know how to reward loyalty.... :snipemo:

Bangit's, Holganza's, Prestoza's all time winning philosophical formula: Always rally behind the lawful incumbent. Logic and righteousness dictates. If Arroyo is not the rightful lawful president then the impeachment case should had not fizzled out. And lawmakers have been elected by almost full majority of the people. (Sison cannot even garner a .1%) It's a simmple mathematical question: Do you like a plus or a minus. Sison is very much in command of the government machinery. Security leakages are rampant. And time might be of the essence before Sison succeeds. Sino ang kakampihan ninyo, ang makademokratikong Arrroyo who submitted herself to the Supreme Court, was later on rejected and frustrated all her attempts to seek continuance of her term (Nagpakumbaba yung pangulo)? Or Sison who is allegedly a Chinese spy and allegedly "ordered the killing of a feeble elderly PKP sweeping the ground" (Kintanar)? ANO Kayo!!!

As expected, Class '78 is slowly climbing the ladder:

Lt. Gen. Delfin Bangit - CG, PA
Lt. Gen. Oscar Rabena - CG, PAF
Maj. Gen. Carlos Holganza - J-3
Maj. Gen. Romeo Prestoza - ISAFP
Brig. Gen. Vicente Porto - CG, 3ID

How about in the PNP? Will Class 78 rule there too?

The Makatarungan Class 1978 is now the ruling class? Former DND Secretary Avelino Cruz thinks so:

“What can we make of this latest announcement from President Arroyo that the 2010 elections would proceed? Can we trust her word this time? Or is the public again being lulled into complacency?” he asked.

Cruz also said the appointment of members of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1978 to key positions in the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police could also be interpreted as part of the pattern. President Arroyo is an adopted member of the PMA “Makatarungan” Class of 1978.

“Mas komportable sya sa (She’s more comfortable with) Class 1978,” he said.

There are now 22 members of PMA Class ‘78 now in key positions in the AFP. They include J2 (Intelligence) Rear Adm . Victor Martir (Navy), Deputy J2 Commodore Efren Tedor (Navy), J3 (Operations) – Maj. Gen. Carlos Holganza (Army), J6 Maj. Gen. Jonathan Martir (Marines), ISAFP-Maj. Gen. Romeo Prestoza (Air Force), and Presidential Security Group commander Brig. Gen. Celedonio Boquiren (Air Force).

In the Army, six of the 10 infantry divisions are under the control of Class of 1978 members. Even the commanding general of the Army, Lt.Gen. Delfin Ban git is a member of the class.

The Air Force is headed by a member of the class, Maj. Gen. Oscar Rabena as Commanding General while in the Navy, the chief of the Naval Staff, Commodore Feliciano Angue, and the head of the Cavite naval station, Commodore Nestor Los Banes are both members of Class 1978.

Hindi na nga updated e, Brig. Gen. Celedonio Boquiren retired from military service but was given a civilian post.

Other members of Class '78 recently appointed:

* Maj. Gen. Juancho Sabban - PMC Commandant

* Brig. Gen. Mario Chan - CG, 4th ID

Maj. Gen. JOnathan Martir belongs to Class '79, unless he was incorporated with Class '78 and was turned back to Class '79, not sure though.
