Soldiers guard the highway as Filipino family flee to an evacuation center in Datu Saudi town, Maguindanao province in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao on September 8, 2008 to avoid being caught in the crossfire between the government troops and Muslim rebels. The Red Cross appealed on September 8, 2008 for funding to help more than 500,000 people who fled their homes after fighting between Muslim separatists and government forces erupted in the southern

Look at all the innocent children suffering and the old being forced to flee. Whats wrong with the picture..... Hmmm now that's a tough question isn't it

hmmm...the bright red bandana the soldier is wearing - makes him a very visible target to enemy marksmen.

Even the situation of the children in the vehicle is degrading and unsafe. There is nothing in sight that this unfortunate people were given assistance by the government while relocating themselves into safer grounds.

The sight of heavily armed soldiers has a tremendous impact to the children mentally that can affect their psychological well-being. It bespeaks of a non-compassionate government .

the soldier with the red bandana looks like a rebel soldier or an MNLF/ MILF fighter, and the small soldier beside another white vehicle in the pic (medyo far) is wearing a helmet so it might be a government soldier... in between them i think is the boundary between MNLF/ MILF territory and government territory (the one with a motorcycle)...

just my hint on your question comrade iron dragon (i may be wrong you know...)

Its the "Keep Distance" sign printed at the back of the pick up. I dunno I could be wrong but I think the sign is in the wrong place at the wrong time . :ssalute:

that's definitely a PA soldier and he is definitely wearing non-regulation headwear and to think he's a machine gunner, he will make a very visible target to enemy fighters out to take the big gunners first.

his immediate superior is very lenient indeed.

Fmr TOPP Awardee 82'PNP - September 18, 2008 09:22 AM (GMT)
Leniency is synonymous to ignorance.

desertranger - September 18, 2008 04:09 PM (GMT)
[ would say that the two vehicles are painted white so they would probably be PNP or Municipal vehicles parked on the side awaiting convoy or escort.

If that's true then its probably safe to say that its one real reason for the cause of poverty there. Fathers know how to make babies but not how to care for them.

Last Saturday, as Bicolanos celebrated the feast of the Virgin of Peñafrancia something stirred the curiosity of those who joined the “traslacion”, the procession transferring Ina, as they call image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia , from the basilica to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Naga City.

Around the city, there were several streamers that proclaimed “Viva la Virgen de Peñafrancia”. Below was the name and photo of Brig. Gen. Danny Lim, who is now in detention for allegedly planning to withdraw support from Gloria Arroyo in February 2006 following the expose of the Hello Garci tapes and in November 2007 following more scandals the most bewildering of which is the NBN/ZTE deal.

There were several reactions to the poster ranging from “What’s his plan?” to “Is he running for senator?” to “Guapo pala si Gen. Lim?”

I asked a friend of Gen. Lim and he said “Danny is a devotee of the Virgin of Peñafrancia. When Danny was a battalion commander in Camarines Sur, he often visited “Ina” at the basilica and always joined the traslacion incognito.”

Another sent me this info: “BGen Danny Lim commanded the 42nd Infantry Battalion, PA based in Bicol Region in 2000/2001. His area of responsibility covered the whole province of Camarines Sur and parts of Albay. He is well-loved and highly respected there and has many friends especially in Naga City.”

Gen. Lim couldnt physically attend the procession so he made his "tarpaulin" attend. :ssalute:

I will vote for Gen. Danny Lim if he run for Vice President in 2010.
