are there any philippine marines or army vehicles fitted with snorkels?? have any of you had experience installing snorkels on your SUVs? see link below for Safari snorkels:

kung pang porma, safari would look good. look-alikes are also fabricated at angeles city pampanga

for serious off-roaders though a lenght of pvc pipe would suffice

Alam ko some of the AFP vehicles that I see come with such. Yun mga mukhang donation mula sa US. Have no first hand experience using snorkels sa sasakyan but a friend jury rigged one sa kotse niya kasi madalas magbaha nga dito sa Pinas. Works but then dahil mabasa brakes mo ay mahirap rin. You have to wash your car pati underside para sigurado hindi maiwan yun bad water which may introduce serious rust :P

M998's already have their air intake up high on top of the hood. but for water fording, they usually add a pipe tension so the airtake is level with the roof.

Wouldn't install those types of snorkels on my SUV. 1st, you'd have too cut a hole on the body! :wow: 2nd, i don't even get the chance to use my 4-wheel drive switch anymore!

cutting the hole is a big issue =) if the suv is old and beat-up its ok, but if its new then its an issue

water fording is fun.

rules of thumb-

if you're an amatuer, huwag kang lalampas sa lubog ang kalahati ng gulong mo.

if you're medyo may experience, hanggang top ng gulong ang tubig, kaya pa yan without snorkel.

for experienced drivers with snorkel , lubog ang tapalodo, kaya yan.

kung hardcore, lubog hanggang leeg sa tubig ang driver, kaya yan. siyempre may snorkel at balot sa grasa at plastic ang electricals :specool:
