In this month's issue the Philippine Navy was honored with a 2 page spread. There were 3 pictures of a Peacock class patrol vessel, an Adradda class patrol craft and Phil and USMC marines on an inflatable. Unfortunately, they indicated no planed acquisitions of Frigates, corvettes, OPVs or Landing Ships in the future. It was a nice short article though.

Thanks for sharing. Generally speaking, since the internet came out, military magazines aimed at general population such as Janes yearbooks, warships international cannot keep up with the latest news posted in the daily newspapers or on military forums. I used to buy the latest issues of these printed magazines or go to the library for the latest issue of Janes , but they have been superseded by the up to the minute breaking news available on the internet. Having said that, such magazines are still ok for the photos they have assuming we have not seen those photos yet.

There are still printed magazines that are valuable for the info they carry but they are specialized magazines that are very expensive that only defense departments or military attaches subscribe to such as Janes intelligence or Janes international or info from certain military consulting firms.

The Peacock Class is a class of patrol corvette built for the Royal Navy. Only five were ever constructed, and by 1997 all had been sold to the Irish Naval Service or the Philippine Navy.
