Title: Gitmo prisoners to Jolo?

Had Fox news in the background. During news break about ten minutes ago, the newscaster said that the Obama administration could possibly transfer the Gitmo prisoners to an island in Asia. The place he mantioned was Jolo. No country was mentioned but many "Jolo"s are there in Asia?

Unless they will make Jolo into an Alcatraz, don't think its a good idea to house any Gitmo inmates in that lawless island.

Can the Gitmo prisoners be transferred to the Philippines legally? Gitmo is under US jurisdiction. The US embassy is the only plot of land that I know of under US control in the Philippines. That is, unless...

Add on: Just found a story about moving some detainees to Palau. That leads to three possibiliities. a) I heard it wrong, b) Fox got it wrong or c) Something else is being worked out.

Hope its not true otherwise we will the target of an international terrorist group like Al Qaeda just free their comrades in arms.....Rogue countries supporting Al Qaeda will pour money, man and material into this country to create chaos....

Sounds like disposing their garbage on our soil....

I thought Al Qaeda already does?

It is Jemaah Islamiya that operates in Jolo (Al-Qaeda inspired group) and not Al-
Qaeda group itself......

Do we have a Youtube video for this by FoXX news?

That is good. It means that the establishment of Gitmo presupposes legitimate US Forces presence. That will not only validate completely Balikatan treaty but will lead to stronger ties, permanent presence, and maybe another security pact or treaty.Way to go, Barack Obama.
