Title: What is the Philippines?

I was watching the news and there was Enrile saying he'll recommend the firing of some telecom executive. Been trying to figure out what the Philippines really is-an authocracy, theocracy? A socialist state? With that much extra judicial power with officials and with the courts regularly making, instead of interpreting, laws its hard to call it a democracy. What is it?

We complain about corruption, incompetence, abuse and so on. I think the first step to a solution is to define what the Philippine goverment really is.

The definition of what the Philippine government should be, can be found in elementary and high school textbooks. And the definition of who are running our government is right there in our Revised Penal Code or criminal procedures. (See Articles on Corruption)
