OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON THE EXISTENCE OF THE PMA-CEBU SQUAD, INC.
The Philippine Military Academy-Cebu Squad, Inc. is an S.E.C. registered non-stock and non-profit organization under the category of fraternity. It is hereinafter referred to as the "Cebu Squad", for brevity.
The purpose for its existence is: To promote equality, camaraderie, fraternity and welfare by and among the former cadets of the Philippine Military Academy including that of its allied military academies.
Cebu Squad is an apolitical and non-partisan group which is composed of active and retired military and police personnel, pdea, customs, legal, civilian individuals and other professionals who had been duly received via so-called "reception" and were issued cadet serial numbers.
Its membership is continuous, open, wide and non-discriminatory since what is required for membership are only the:
1] reception
2] cadet serial number.
This group does not admit honorary or adoptive members. It does not impose any monthly or annual dues. Furthermore, the Cebu Squad does not represent or misrepresent itself as an alumni organization or arm of the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc. [PMAAAI].
For emphasis, the Cebu Squad does not compete and does not plan to compete with PMAAAI. It does not instigate or encourage alumni members to de-list or sever their membership from the PMAAAI. The Cebu Squad is not a breakaway group or a renegade faction of the PMAAAI. Cebu Squad is a separate and distinct juridical entity.
The Cebu Squad is simply a group of individuals who formed themselves as such in the exercise of their constitutional right to form associations or societies not contrary to law under Section 8, Article 3 of the 1987 Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines, in order to help and bond with fellow cavaliers.
