Awesome stamina and discipline indeed! They deserve all the praises.

Now for their superiors they deserve to be censured if not demoted for incompetence. Better planning for the event and simple care for their men would have avoided this unnecessary ordeal. How difficult is it to plan for a change of guard and surely these "officers" have historical reference to do their planning - Ninoy Aquino's own funeral.

Nobody expected to funeral to take that long, didn't you see the honor gurads waiting at Manila Memorial? They were already there around 10AM. I don't see any incompetence there as it was originally planned that the funeral is over by 1PM.

The fact of the matter was that the honor guards did their duty, they showed discipline during the duration of the funeral march. Please don't use the incident to demean or charge the officers with incompetence.
