Female scout rangers
do they undergo the same level training undergone by male comrades or they are just 'office girls'?

The rank insignias on the lapels Kooks. The smaller one is a LT while the larger woman is a CAPT.

actually hindi sila scout rangers... they're just organic part of the FSRR but not necessary scout rangers regulars.. ang organic lang ng FSSR ang pwedeng magsuot ng black-suit as their uniform at gumamit ng musang ng patch. All organic of FSRR undergoes the SROC(Scout Ranger Orientation Course) a 45 day orientation training in the basics of SR. pero since time immemorial wala pang ranger regular na female... as you can see from the picture wala silang tabak badge, which only those who've undergone the regular course(usually 6 months and must have test mission before graduation) are allowed th wear. in conclusion, they are member of the FSRR but they're not Scout Rangers regular. :devilwink:

Somebody from PMA Class 97 (a WAC officer) attempted or insinuated to undergo the Scout Ranger Course. Upon hearing that idea, we immediately discourage her because SHE WILL NEVER PASS THE STANDARDS OF THE TRAINING.
She wants to make history but fu***king "making history" is destroying our training POI. Its plain impossible that a lady can lift a 30kgs ruck everyday----whether they go on a daily 10Km roadrun or the graded PEs like 20km forced march and 50km foot patrol on a rugged terrain.
I heard that one female officer was groomed to be the Filipino version of the GI Jane by letting her join the SWAG training. Again, I dont think our frogmen wont lower the training standards just to accommodate this lady officer.
NOTE:
We have female officers in the FSRR like our nurse and RSO. They are rear-echelon "support" officers.

Hola Surehit2005, please clarify. PMA graduates including women are commissioned directly into the regular force in the branch of service selected. That is Army, Navy and Air Force. Not as WACs.

Don't be so sure sir surehitter but how will you know if you don't even allow women to try?
flipzi - March 5, 2005 06:12 AM (GMT)
Kookie,
Tanung ko lang po.
Why do women want to be soldiers too?
Are they not not afraid of the circumstances?
Are they not afraid of the bullets and bombs?
Are they not afraid of getting riddled with machinegun bullets, decapitated, mutilated, burned to death, tortured, or even gang-raped, by let's say the Abu Sayyaf for example, when caught?
What with soldiery that makes them risk their lives?
I'm sure being lesbian aint the reason.
So what is it really?

Yes, you are right. That lady officer was assigned in HPA as a staff officer/ PL of the enlisted women whose MOS is WAC (Women's Auxiliary Corps). I did not mean that her MOS(Military Occupational Specialty) is WAC because she is actually and infantry officer.
It is interesting to note that all women soldiers are generally referred to as WACs. Even the present generation of enlisted women are a little bit confused about their MOS thanks to the rapid changes by HPA starting in 1997 when women officers graduated from PMA.
The two women officers in the FSRR are usually referred to as WAC officers but they come from different MOS. The chubby one comes fromt he Nurse Corps (NC) while the other one is Infantry (INF).
Officers and enlisted women who used to belong from WAC can now take MOS like their male counterparts if they wish to.
