Just make sure the crooks hanging out the NAIA area cannot smell your buck. You'll be alright, it does'nt need much time for you to transit between NAIA & the domestic terminal. Just keep an eye on well dressed pickpockets between these areas.

Employ diversionary tactic to get rid of these crooks behind or infront of you that sometimes use attractive ladies as decoy to divert your attention. I always use these precautions everytime I have a holiday there. Do not trust your baggage to boys not in uniform. Keep a close distance when they are carrying the baggage for you otherwise that bundles of "pasalubong" would vanish into the thin air.

If you are taking PAL inbound , it is relatively safe. If someone is picking you up, coordinate the pickup process and contingencies. If you take a taxi, I suggest pay the counter and get a limo rate so that least hassles to get to where you wanna go is acheived.

Lastly, send my pasalubong to my PO box. :thumb:

Good advice sir, I'm thinking of coming home myself middle of this year.

Thanks for the advice Folks. I'll be coming in late Sunday evening via North West Airlines. My family already arranged a van to pick me up (and my parents) will be there to meet me.

My advice for those among you who have frequent flier miles is to save it and use it only in time of need. When I called the travel office over here for us military folks (SATO), they were going to charge me $1107.40 for a round trip ticket from Narita to Manila back to Narita.

I called North West themselves and got the ticket for only $24.00 plus 35,000 miles deducted from my account. What a steal! :drunk: :armycheers:

As for the party, I can hold it here in Olongapo if you're all that serious. The question is where are you going to crash out as the house right now is full? You know how to reach me here so feel free to do so. :specool:

BTW just don't try to invite me to Ago-go clubs as my wife will surely kill me. She may be 5 feet flat, but she could sure pack a wallop. I know, I've experienced it kaya naging miyembro ako ng TAKUZA (Asawa)! :exactly:

Need not to invite you to AGO GO strip joints, you have plenty of that while ashore or wherever you were during your tour of duty, haven't you ? Sorry if your XYL is at your back while reading this, just kneel down if she will give you a good hiding.

Finally hit the ground last 27th February. After 3 days of travelling from Virginia to the Philippines, I am finally home and happy. The MAC flights were the killer which is why it took me this long to get here. Will be back and running once I get my internet connection hooked up at the house. The food tastes great and it is so good to be home. Thanks Folks! :drunk:

:drunk: Anytime! But the wife is keeping me on a short leash! :crawling:

Why a problem if it's a rubber leash.

When we were on holiday a couple of years ago, me and my wife had a pact; that I would be entertaining and entertained by my own friends, and she with her's, and another arrangement for the common friends, and there was a truce through out the duration of the holiday.

Well the thing is, I should say it's much sweeter to be together this time that you will unwind your selves from the pressures of work and the day-to-day family routine. :specool:

maniegom - March 8, 2005 12:17 PM (GMT)
Thanks TOPP, but sometimes the tensions build up a little bit due to the new two room extensions we recently had built. Patapos na and all that is left is the painting part and the water heater (it should be all done in less than two weeks from now).

The other is because my family doesn't deploy with me overseas and stays here so that they can at least be able to plant their roots and this is very beneficial for my daughter who is going to school right now at Subic Montessori. So siyempre, my wife wants me to be constantly around her at all times to catch up for the lost time.

Kagabi nga, uminom lang ako nang kaunting beer, nagalit na siya :drunk: . Pero what can I do, that's maybe her way of showing me that she loves me (and TAKUZA kasi rin ako he-he)!

I got to start working out because I keep on tasting all our spectacular cuisines! :specool:

Fmr TOPP Awardee 82'PNP - March 8, 2005 11:14 PM (GMT)
I thought your wife or family were with you in your tour of duty. Yes, you have to make up of what's missing during your absence. I cannot blame your wife if she's on guard all the time. I agree there should be an uninterrupted togetherness this time as you know, a months break is not really enough if you are working overseas with a limited leave. And, there are some chores that have to be done in the home with your supervision, after days of celebrating your homecoming with friends and close relatives.

maniegom - March 23, 2005 03:43 PM (GMT)
To All,

Thank you very much for all of your suggestions before I came home, but like all good things about anything, it must all come to pass.

I enjoyed my stay so much and there will be some more chances again for me to come home. I had the chance to be with my family and enjoy their company. My daughter is the 3rd Honor in her class (like who cares, but I do being her Pop), I even was granted by the Lord to even be with my father (The parent who brought me up) who I haven't seen for 21 years and try to catch up with him somehow.

I come from a broken family and have been the sole bread winner for them all since I was 18 despite the fact that I am now 38 years young (he-he).

The biggest thing that I will never forget is how you all gave me your advices when I asked for it and also how you accomodated to it. I don't mean to brag, but I constantly travel a lot in my job. Still though, I never take what I think I know for granted, because this is the beauty of this forum and everything you all suggested was worth every time and effort you all put in to keep me up to date. Information is key and you all willingly helped me out. I cannot thank you all enough. MARAMING-MARAMING SALAMAT PO SA INYONG LAHAT :thumb:

When you are a fair skinned Amerasian with dark blonde hair with green and blue eyes, any one will automatically mistaken you not as a Pinoy since this has always been a challenge. Talk about falling in line in the "Filipinos or OFW's" line only and be of course confronted by the NAIA officials for falling in line there and be challenged for it. This is a very common thing for me to be proud of anyway and show my RP passport like a badge that I do belong here. Hindi pa natin tinamaan ang discrimination that I constantly face day to day, not only here, but especially also from our kababayans overseas, because their general line of thinking (but not all) na ANAK DAW AKO NG BARGIRL NA BINUNTIS NG KANO! Oh what the heck, so what if it were true, kasalanan pa ba rin iyan? GET OVER IT!

During my stay in Olongapo, I was invited as a guest speaker for the Amerasian Day rights and was glad to wake my fellow Amerasians to be more persevering and not just hope on a dream that one day if they ever got to the States that all their dreams will come true. I told them my life's story and the struggles I went though to prove to them that if you don't start now to make and train yourselves to make a difference in your lives while you are here, what more do you think you can do when you get to the States? Then again what if your hope of getting there doesn't come true since the odds of finding your biological American mother or father are slim to none. Shall you just give up hope and have self pitty as your excuse. To me, SELF PITTY IS YOUR WORST ENEMY! DON'T LINGGER THERE TOO LONG!

Well this is not the thread for drama, but to be GRATEFUL to all those who responded and also those who did not because your ideas were already mentioned prior to your posting. I cannot thank you all enough, but still many thanks. GOD BLESS YOU ALL IN THIS FORUM & LONG LIVE! :patrioticpinoy:

Some people when they were already at the peak, can no longer care or afford to look back.

Mani, always remember that what was behind and under, might have put you at the top, and sometimes self pity is a challenge while you are cruising the thorny path to your triumph, - and you'll never pass this way again

Your life might be an example, and your loved ones should be proud of it.

Best of LUCK, and we'll keep in touch again in this forum.

Ta,

TOPP

That's the whole thing!

We all have our own challenges to overcome.

Without these challenges, we wont be able to achieve the things that we can only get through overcoming these challenges.

Even if we cant outwit the challenges, even if we fail to overcome these, that effort and the courage we take can bring us into something that we can later on be glad that we dared to face this set of challenges.

Later on, we can just smile for we have grown into a MUCH BETTER PERSON that we never dreamed we could be.

Or that WE HAVE HURDLED A CHALLENGE THAT MOST CANNOT OUTWIT OR OVERCOME.

WE HAVE SERVED OURSELVES AND WE HAVE SERVED OTHERS AS WELL THE WAY MOST COULD NOT DO.

They will remain dreaming they too have it while we remain enjoying what we already have.

Well here I go again. Will be coming home tomorrow for almost three weeks to try and help my Babies secure a visa from the Japanese Embassy so they can enter the country and get their SOFA stamp once on station.

They've been given the run around by that embassy, so I am now determined to see them myself. It is so ironic, that the US Embassy cannot even make a mere phone call to help in whatever way. But as I said before, in the Service we're here to serve and not to be served.

This will be the first time for all of us to be together where I am stationed at. I got all the paper works they required in hand and a constant prayer to the Lord to succeed.

Honestly, I can't wait to pig out on all the delicious cuisine. See you all soon.

Fmr TOPP Awardee 82'PNP - September 10, 2005 04:45 AM (GMT)
Hope you can fast track those necessary paperworks in no time with no red tape barriers.

We'll hear you soon.

Look after yourself.

Mangangalakal - December 10, 2005 05:13 PM (GMT)
I am here in Sydney,Australia. I had gotten an email from my good superior officer who has not heard from me for a long time. All that he knows has been that I am going underground here in Australia where NPA amazons have tricked immigration through their well-funded machinery. He asked me why my letters are not capitalized. I said, " I have been in terrible stress. NPAs have been stalking me here in Australia. I have been a big fan of this forum. I am hurriedly sending my messages because NPA amazons have been spying, stalking and threatening me which is normal thing for any AFP ex-civilian employee like me. As of this moment, sitting in front of me (she cannot see what i am writing. so don't worry) is an NPA amazon who is extremely fascinated with my boyish looks at 50 and spying on me. Sitting beside me is the security officer assigned to protect me. His name is Pedro.

I had been homeless here in Sydney for 2 years. I move from one shelter home to another because NPAs have gotten intel that i am here. They're looking for me. If not for the generosity of a good Jew who saw me panhandling here and coddled me in his factory, I should had been dead. Shot by a NPA. Thanks to him.

Now i am settled. Sitting in front of this NPA amazon who is one of the most beautiful ladies I have ever seen. Now I am going to the washroom. "Never compromise national security for a lady", as my superior officer has reminded me.

Papa, I wanna go home!

Thank you for telling me. But my blonde is so captivating. Bumpers are just so... gigil na gigil ako!Ang sarap sarap kurutkurotin ang behind. And she stands 5'11!

Fmr TOPP Awardee 82'PNP - December 11, 2005 09:58 PM (GMT)
Your situation as you told us tells us how important you are for the NPAs,and while you are stalked and guarded, you are like in a stituation where you are always warmed up with fantasies with that beautiful and alluring lass by your side.

If you could please tell us further what could be the real outcome of your present situation there ? And the circumstances behind it.

Sorry for sticking my nose onto that interesting affair of yours, but it amazed me of the thrill of it. :drunk:

maniegom - December 11, 2005 10:16 PM (GMT)
That's an interesting story Mangangalakal. Never knew the Neps are even around your area. Is it because they are spying or want to start a new life like most immigrants?

As for me, I am still trying to get my family to join me over where I am stationed at. The Japanese Embassy in Manila denied my family's Visa which is why I got to get their dependent ID cards done instead. Hopefully it will all work out so I don't have to rely on that same Embassy again.

At the same token, I'll be home for the Holidays, hope you all will be able to come home too. Happy Holidays to you all! :thumb:

A Nep spy in Australia? Man if you have proof, getting her is what the Australians are looking for with their so-called anti-terror laws. Especially that the Neps are listed as one, a simple phone call is all what you need, unless that is just fantasies? :armywink:

Fmr TOPP Awardee 82'PNP - December 12, 2005 08:46 AM (GMT)
:agree: It's close to that I reckoned, Saver.

I just can't figure out how the Neps are going after an individual from the Philippines even on foreign soil if such individual is not a high profile figure against them.

This is the first time I have heard of such activities that the Philippine and Australian government should or would have picked up thru intelligence protocol, or these are all games from alarmists who deserved entry into the "Ripley's Believe It Or Not".

Listen to this, guys. The not so great Mangangalakal had found a way to dupe his masters in British commonwealth country. His dream of being let go and finally eloped with his Mossad officer. Taking advantage of ___'s governing law, leniency, tolerance and laxity of his masters, he barged into _____headquarters with his battery of lawyers. Dictated to his masters to sign his resignation papers. They were cowed and presented him his last non-disclosure papers to sign. Inspite of spilling some of the beans in this forum which he used as a ploy to be let go, they consider him very very indispensable. So you have an idea how brilliant this man is. The great Mangangalakal is greater than what his image projects. He has a unique talent of easily formulating mathematical equations that can break the most difficult codes. This is what makes this lunatic so special. The man fell into a honey trap. A very voluptuous Mossad officer. With his fickle mind, ____is constantly praying he loses interest with his Italian 5'11" fashion model. Because if not and with all his security breaches, he'll probably end up floating in the Potomac River. F___ b___!More info on this lunatic coming. Signed, curious onlooker and journalist!!

a. is it possible for another poster to edit another poster's post? why would a poster be allowed to edit another poster's post?

unless he's an imposter...

b. is it possible for the same poster to appear under another poster's name? why would a poster want to appear under another poster's name?

unless he's the same poster.

possible, you missed it - TOPP is a Moderator - he can edit other poster's posts.

I just hope the Mods don't arbitrarily edit posts that they personally find offensive although conforming to PDFF rules and regulations.
