:crawling: I guess this is also a prime EXAMPLE of GRAFT in the MILITARY!!! The posters should get somebody to document this kind of GRAFT...imagine..soldiers who are in the field, risking their lives and limbs for the nation..without armored back up....simply because a few weekend warriors decided it would be cool that they would be alighting from AFP SIMBA APC's, and add that to the fact that most probably the PASGT or copies thereof of the helmets being used by the weekend warriors are also Govt. issue...WAWA as in I pity the soldiers who are in the field...maybe the helmets are so damn useless their just good for stopping or minimizing the effect of pellets.

MAHIYA NAMAN KAYO!!!

John McAleese became a symbol of the boldness of the SAS when he was photographed, in May 1980, on the balcony of the Iranian embassy in London, about to blast open a window and begin the rescue of 19 hostages. He could not have envisaged that, 25 years later, he would be standing in a field in Northern Ireland dressed in combat fatigues, holding a replica M16 assault rifle and instructing an eager squad of IT workers, lawyers and salesmen in the finer arts of close quarter battle.

Nick, a former infantry NCO and manager at Stirling Services, a Hereford-based company that also trains people in security work, is supervising the expansion of Airsoft in Northern Ireland where, despite the Troubles, there is a fast-growing appetite for the game.

"Airsoft creates a situation where you almost suspend your disbelief, like you would when watching the opening scenes of Saving Private Ryan," he says. "When the rounds start hitting you with a nasty smack, it certainly creates urgency; people quickly learn to gel as a team and to rely on each other."

McAleese retains a morbid sense of humour when it comes to training. In one scenario, he has two groups of eight approach each other in an extended line like a scene out of a Western, to practise withdrawing under fire. He deliberately does not shout "contact" until both sides are within touching distance. The yelps as players take bursts of fully-automatic fire can be heard across the sand dunes.

"You might as well make it realistic," he says. "It really concentrates the mind when you are that close. People read books about this SAS stuff and now they can do something similar."

The Airsofters agree they are in it for the escapism and to be able to return home with a few angry red welts and memories of heroism under fire.

This airsoft knockdown rifle seems to be not authentic as the grenade launcher ring/gasket seems to be missing.

Lost Command rules “Operation Full Circle”

National champion ASG Lost Command of Cebu reasserted its supremacy by bagging the 3rd National Airsoft CQB competition dubbed “Operation Full Circle” yesterday at the Mandaue North Reclamation Area.

Coordination and teamwork paid well for Lost Command as they finished their entire mission and amassed 1,975 total points in the two-day encounter.

Lost Command encountered its critical battle against closest pursuer ASG Jackhammers in the final battle.

Had Jackhammers won, it would have been a tie at the number one spot and the
overall championship will be determined according to the number of demerits incurred by the teams.

Jackhammers had a total of 1,500 points while ASG Yawcoy’s tallied 1,230 points.

there's a lot of chinese made airsoft guns in divisoria, for as low as P 1,000 you can get a full-auto battery oprated MP5 or M4.

if you want to have the heavy duty, may cost about 15t/gun plus you have to buy equipments.

PM me if your interested.

Pare, airsoft is actually good training if applied to anticipated real-world scenario ang format.

City Hunter - August 19, 2006 10:15 AM (GMT)
I'm not sure if those who gave negative comments with regards to local airsoft does know how such events work. FYI, most airsofters buy their own equipment and gear. The rest either rent or borrow. The fact that real helmets are heavy and pricey just points out that these are not the norm for most airsofters. The replicas that are just an improvement on the helmet liners used in ROTC training (the plastic helmets for MP and Medic) is what is usually bought. I have in my possession an old Kevlar helmet not yet of the PASGT design. I borrowed it from a friend to try it out. It, the helmet, was already replaced with a better design from the one who got issued with it. As to why it wasn't passed down the line to benefit someone else I do not know - it is most likely that others should've benefited with the helmets then bought in previous bids (I believe there was even questions on the questionable quality and transaction of Kevlar helmets for the AFP).

With regards to the Simba, that is most likely assigned to the area where it was described to have been seen with airsofters/weekend warriors. What the negative poster probably didn't know is the fact that any such event involves either a fee or a donation. The former would be in the maintenance and providing extras for the troops. The latter would be if there are special events held. Cebu and Davao airsoft groups have donated much in terms of cash and equipment to their chosen PNP and AFP units. I believe Luzon groups too have done so but have no info on hand. Such events are scheduled wherein such equipment (and personnel as AFP and PNP troopers also join in for training and enjoyment) are not prioritized for use (or in need of servicing). Imagine, the Simba is just in the garage waiting for parts but it already helps the troopers get extra funding just by being there.

I got to play with several present and ex PNP, NBI and AFP troopers and officers. They have shown to us how to be responsible even with our toys and how we can be better citizens when the need arises. In fact, the Davao team were trained by expert PNP and AFP airsoft members and supporters to be as good as the real VIP security detail - sayang lang wala akong pix na nun.

And we in the local airsoft community equally voice our disgust on those irresponsible airsofters. I do hope this helps clear the issue.

P.S. There are indeed those who gear up as real policemen and AFP enforcers but members and other players make sure they follow the norm of taking the gear off when not in the site. The exception are those who are real enforcers and troopers.

City Hunter - August 21, 2006 11:57 PM (GMT)
This is to help clear the issue:

From Sir Almighty's post at http://www.filairsoft.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=48184#48184

We get to play with military every so often. Unlike what some people think though, even as those games may be fun, they are not recreational in nature.. much less whimsical or behest. If and when we play with soldiers, it is always as part of their training program. Such games are set up by, and coordinated with, the units' training officers.. not by us.

When we participated in a "live-fire" joint tactical exercise (JTX) with Light Reaction and 12th Mechnanized Infantry companies of the Philippine Army, everything was done and coursed though all the usual military bureaucracy. We attended the exercise planning, including the command briefing with the generals. It was agreed that LRC troopers would use real guns that fired Simunition rounds (powder fired plastic dye capsules) against airsoft volunteers who were to use their own airsoft guns. The 12MIC soldiers, on the other hand, used airsoft guns which AGL provided for them.

Lending airsoft equipment to military units is something we have been doing for some time. The only way for the military and police commanders to appreciate the application of airsoft in training is for them to see their troopers using it (and asking the field officers for comment and feedback). Far be it for them to spend good money (they'd have to ask for) on an airsoft experiment.. so we pave the way by lending them the stuff. Some of these units, like the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion, are now considering getting their own airsoft units for tactical training.

We don't pay them.. and they don't pay us. In exchange for our time, efforts and (often) own money spent, the AFP gives us each a piece of paper which says

Certificate of Appreciation

"..in recognition of wholehearted support and invaluable contribution...".

Often, that's all. Sometimes.. if we're lucky.. we get to go on a joyride aboard an APC or a tank.. shoot a real sniper rifle.. fire an LMG.. or get a taste of whatever "toys" the military happens to bring along.

AGL is, essentially, a civilian volunteer group that provides OPFOR service to military (or law enforcement) units in training. We don't exactly go requesting them for a game. They call (on) us when an airsoft game would suit their training requirements. We're always just on stand-by to respond.

Perhaps, no one will win as per tournament per se but both wins because we gain knowledge, experience and cammaraderie to our men in uniform and vise versa because it is supposed to be a training for the military.

For us civilians, proud na kami nun na makalaro ang military kahit kami ang badguys or dummys for their training ...

He he. There was one post in the airsoft forum asking what one would do if he was in their shoes defending the line and spotted 200 opfors charging his position. Some said they'd turn traitor. Some said they'd run or hide. A few would do his best pose and die defending the line. Problem is that a lot are newbies and very much like what happened to those Marines on a test or recon mission without experienced guidance. Dami "died."

One thing that's nice about this hobby is that you get to see what some people are made of. What more if its real life.

made in china guns P3,000+
protective mask P500
BB 3500-5000rounds P300

this is all you need to play airsoft wargames.

additional protection like helmet gloves is optional.
camouflage bdu is optional, any dress would do, but camouflage bdu
help you survive more. you can buy non-designated bdu everywhere for P900 to 1,800
but be warned though playing in jungles is no luxury, it is the real deal like real soldiers deal with, mosquitos, itchy insects and plants, dangerous terrains like holes and cliffs, humidity, heat stroke and of course possibly snakes. though there are also CQB sites which is safer but heart pumping too since your enemy is just wall to wall besides you.

sometimes there are real soldiers and police playing with us for training purposes.
if lucky they even use the simba tank as part of wargaming exercise.
and proud to have played with some generals and sexy artista.

for local contacts and inquiry you can go here:
