first of all I would like to make it clear that Im not a communist symphatizer, im just a simple resident of Samar who is concerned by the rampant illegal logging activities consducted by some unscrupolous Phil Army officers assigned in the island's three provinces. Rare hardwoon flitches are llegally shipped to Manila for profit or for fore personal use by these Army officers using military transport and in connivance with DENR and PNP officials...i appeal to the good 8ID officers and other high command officers to put a stop to this ilegal activity, please control these dirty Army men, pity our island and the eventual natural catastophe thru flooding and mudslides that will occur if illegal logging activities are not halted immediately...you are supposed to stop illegal loggers, not join them...
please pardon my rant but i hope thru this website someone in headquarters with a good heart and honest intention will put a stop to this, thank you ...

I personally know a Captain from that division. So glad, I have not seen any hard wood yet in his back yard. But sad to hear stories like this being committed by people who we thought should protect our environment.
Mr. xamrnon, your post clearly tells us that you are a witness to a criminal act where the perpertrators happened to be allegedly army or military officers. As a law-abiding citizen, it is your duty to report it to the proper authorities by way of executing a sworn statement of all the facts you have witnessed, so that proper investigation can be conducted and appropriate charges could be subsequently filed against those involved.
You published or posted what you have witnessed or seen in this forum whereby exposing the entire Army outfit into disrepute if no investigation will be conducted as this will result to a baseless generalization with unfounded facts for the reason that no specific names of individuals who were involved has been exposed on account of proper investigation.
Having a closer look at your post, seems that you have the intelligence enough to do the right thing.
So act now! Your case might in the future be a deterrent to curb out illegal activities allegedly (as what you have published here) committed by some of our Army officers and men.
If you want simple legal advice, just send me a private message.

and not only the military, mga amigo, the communist terrorists are also deeply involved in illegal logging, and one more thing also - some of the hot logs confiscated by joint task force operatives from illegal loggers are sometimes sold or used by the confiscators themselves...hay naunsa na ni
Their job is to uphold the law and that same law obliges them to protect the environment.
To sum it up,.. they are being paid to implement that law.

Illegal logging in Samar is quite rampant. I'm not quite aware if there are still Army officers that are indeed involved in this trade. But I do know that illegal logging is a major revenue source for politicians and other unscrupulous individuals including gov't officials at the local environment offices of the towns. Some mayors, vice mayors, all the way up to governors are very much into illegal logging. The problem is that the small people who are actually cutting down the trees and those transporting it will never actually admit who their bosses are, for fear of their lives.
Regarding the use of military transport in hauling lumber, it may have been misinterpreted, as those may have been actually confiscated. But then again, it may be quite true that there are some army personnel involved in this but that can not be proven at this point as no cases have been filed as of now.
Let us hear both sides of the issue before we make our judgement.
