THE FALKLANDS: HOW CLOSE TO DEFEAT?

Marking the 25th anniversary of the cease fire, one-off special Falklands: How Close to Defeat?, explores the story of what never happened but what so nearly came to pass: a British defeat by Argentina in the battle for the Falklands.  This is the story of one of the great might-have-beens of recent history. For the first time ever, a host of senior British and Argentine combatants will argue and debate the seven critical key steps that could have led to British defeat – the 'what if' moments in which the war was won and lost.

When it began, in April 1982, the outcome of the Falklands War was far from certain.  The art of war, someone once said, is to make fewer mistakes than your opponent.  And the case of the Falklands certainly proves this point.  Just one less mistake by Argentina or one more by Great Britain, might have changed the course of history.

and Sabah?

Israeli,

Will you please let this Sabah issue go? hitthewall.gif Now you're starting to sound even more like Firenzi.

Israeli,

1) Make sure you have in your possesion a good bargaining chips in the table to make a stand and defend the area you want to assert.

2) Falklands war show the obvious importance of strong Air Force that will contribute largely to the outcome of war.

Argentine Air Force manage to wreak havoc on British Naval task force even though they have an unsophisticated nimble Skyhawks with few Exocets and Dumb Bombs in their inventory. Take note that some of those dumb bombs that hit British ships never explode.

3)Troops with better understanding on the art of war having a good equipment on their hands will more likely to win in any conflict.

My two cents.
